Who you are on your best day — in one honest line.

The visible shape of your writing on the page.

Your yes-list and your ick-list.

Real samples beat any adjective.

Same voice, different rooms.

The tripwires that catch AI drift.

3 · Vocabulary Map

The fastest signal the AI can copy. Yes-list on the left, swap-list on the right.

Comma-separated is fine. Your real yes-list.

One per line. Format: bad word → what I say.

Let AI draft it — the Voice Mirror prompt

Works with Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini; a free tier exists for each. How to pick →
Paste this in and feed it 4–8 things you've actually written. It drafts all six sections — you decide.

You are helping me build a "Voice Profile" — a short instruction block I can paste on top of any AI request so its output sounds like me.

I'm going to paste 4–8 things I actually wrote (emails, posts, notes — anything real, not polished for publication). Read them like a mirror, not a critic.

Then draft SIX sections, in this exact order and format:

1. ESSENCE — three adjectives + one honest sentence on how I sound at my best.
2. MECHANICS — sentence length, paragraph shape, contractions, punctuation habits, use of headers/bullets.
3. WORDS — a short USE list and a short AVOID list (words I clearly reach for; words I clearly don't).
4. EXAMPLE LINES — 3–4 sentences pulled or lightly stitched from what I sent you, that most concentrate the voice.
5. TONE SHIFTS — how I sound different in client email vs. internal note vs. public post.
6. GUARDRAILS — the things that would make it obviously not me (openers I never use, punctuation I hate, hype words I don't touch).

Rules:
- Draft; don't decide. I'll edit every section.
- If you're not sure, flag it in [brackets] — do not guess.
- Do not invent a fact about me, my clients, or my business.
- End with the line: THE RULE: you draft; I decide. Anything uncertain gets flagged, not guessed.

Here are my samples:
