Human-Owned Zone (HOZ)
You decide which drafts to send, edit tone, and approve anything sensitive.
FENCE Check
Don't paste emails containing client passwords, financial account numbers, or legal correspondence under privilege. Redact names if using a public AI tool.
Prompt Starter
I'm going to paste 5 emails at a time. For each one, give me: 1. Priority: URGENT / RESPOND TODAY / CAN WAIT / FYI ONLY 2. A 1-line summary of what they need 3. A draft reply in my voice (professional but warm, not stiff) 4. Flag anything that looks like it needs my personal judgment Email 1: [paste] Email 2: [paste] ...
Work the Mission
- 1Sort your inbox by sender, not date. Group similar senders together.
- 2Paste 5 emails at a time into your AI tool using the prompt above.
- 3Review the priority flags. Handle URGENT items first.
- 4Edit draft replies — add specifics, adjust tone, remove generic filler.
- 5Send or schedule. Repeat with the next batch.

Twist Card — when AI doesn't cooperate
- AI drafted a reply that's too generic? Add one specific detail from the original email (a name, a date, a project name).
- AI flagged something as urgent that isn't? Trust your judgment. The AI doesn't know your context.
- AI drafted a reply to something that needs a phone call? Don't send it. Some things need a human voice.
Make it stick
Run the same batch-of-five triage at the start of every inbox session, so the approval habit sticks before any of it is automated.
