What this is

About this micro-course

A 15–20 minute lesson that introduces the "Agent Boss" mindset — the strategic shift from using AI as a faster keyboard to managing it as digital labor that expands your capacity. Includes the AI Opportunity Map for deciding what to automate, co-create, or analyze.

  • 5 chapters
  • The three-phase Agent Boss evolution
  • The AI Opportunity Map (Doer / Creator / Insight Partner)
  • The Delegation Test — three questions before you hand anything off

What you'll learn

Chatbots answer. Agents act. But before you can manage agents, you need the right mindset. This lesson maps the three phases of how professionals evolve their relationship with AI — from frantic-intern user to active delegator — and gives you a practical framework for deciding which tasks to automate, which to co-create, and which to keep human.

Curriculum

5 chapters · 15–20 min

  1. The Capacity Gap

Why most workers are drowning in coordination, not deep work.

  2. The three-phase evolution

From AI as tool to AI as digital colleague to AI as managed agent.

  3. The AI Opportunity Map

The Doer (automate), The Creator (co-create), The Insight Partner (analyze).

  4. The Delegation Test

Three questions that tell you what's safe to hand off.

  5. Governance as your primary job

Judgment, empathy, and accountability as the human edge.

Practice assignment

Map your work against the three modes

Map your last week of work against the three interaction modes: Doer (automate), Creator (co-create), Insight Partner (analyze). Identify one task in each category. For your Doer task, apply the Delegation Test: is it repetitive, binary, and low-risk? If yes, it's your first delegation candidate.

Time
30 minutes
Deliverable
A one-line delegation call: the task you'd hand off first, and the one you'd keep.
Review
Self-scored. Bring it to Office Hours and we'll pressure-test scope with you.
  1. List every significant task from your last week of work.
  2. Sort each into: Doer (automate), Creator (co-create), or Insight Partner (analyze).
  3. Pick your top Doer candidate and apply the Delegation Test: repetitive? binary? low-risk?
  4. Write one sentence on what you'd delegate first — and what you'd keep.
How the practice assignments work
  1. 1. Finish the lesson
Each lesson ends with a short prompt that turns the concept into a one-page deliverable you'd actually use at work.
  2. 2. Build your artefact
Use the copy-paste template inside the course. Most assignments take 15–30 minutes and produce a doc, prompt, or checklist you keep.
  3. 3. Self-review with the rubric
Every assignment ships with a 4-point rubric (clarity · specificity · safety · usefulness). Score yourself in two minutes.
  4. 4. Optional: share what you built
Bring your artefact to a live session — Office Hours or the weekly build-along — for real-time feedback from our team. Prefer to share publicly? Post it and tag us on LinkedIn (Fear of Becoming Obsolete.).

Assignments are ungraded and self-paced. There's no deadline, no quiz, no certificate gate — the deliverable is the proof you did the work.

Try this before you launch

“Think about the last week of your work. What percentage of your time went to coordination — emails, status updates, scheduling, meeting prep — versus the strategic or creative work you were actually hired to do? That ratio is your Capacity Gap.”

What you walk away with

  • The three-phase Agent Boss evolution and where you are now
  • The AI Opportunity Map — a practical tool for sorting any task into the right mode
